Lighting up Leavenworth: A Magical Christmas Lighting Festival
Nothing can quite put you in the Christmas spirit the way that a city full of lights can. Our quaint Bavarian town becomes a magical village of lights that you can witness throughout December, January, and February. With over half a million lights (that are so beautiful!) your spirits will be sent into holiday cheer overdrive. You don’t want to miss it. So, book a stay with us and see what all the (merry) fuss is about at our Christmas Lighting Festival.

The Annual Christmas Lighting Festival
For the first three weeks of December, you can enjoy all of the holiday cheer at the Front Street Gazebo. Every Friday, starting at 4:30 p.m., St. Nickolaus arrives to tell the crowd the thrilling story of his legacy. He also brings “gold” for the good boys and girls.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the festivities start early at noon. This is when Santa and other holiday friends march from the Festhalle to the Gazebo. Witness the magic of the holiday throughout the day as well. Enjoy live music playing your favorite Christmas songs. The list includes handbell choirs, a top-ranked Guard Dixie band, solo artists and professional choirs.

As you stroll through the town, take in a big whiff of the roasted chestnuts and enjoy some sledding at Front Street Park. Then, warm up with some hot spiced wine or cocoa for the kids at the traditional Gluhwein Tent. On Sundays, let your kids adventure and collect free cookies when they follow the Cookie Crawl Map.

Village of Lights
On Fridays, lights are left on all night. But, be sure to stay until 4:45 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday when the Lighting Ceremony is in full effect. Be there to witness the village go up in over a half a million lights. Keep warm with and enjoy the weekend with the ones you love as you stare into the wonderful lights.

Our Inn is right around the corner from all the festivities. Hurry up and book before we fill up! It really is the most magical time of the year. You don’t want to miss the wonderment of the Christmas Lighting Festival in our cozy Bavarian town.
