In the winter it’s all about snow. Two world-class downhill Alpine Ski slopes are within a 20 minute drive from the Obertal. Ski Hill run, in Leavenworth offers a great beginners ski slope so you may learn the ropes. Some of the most spectacular cross country skiing scenery is found right here in Leavenworth. Snowmobiling is simply spectacular and the horse drawn sleighs rides are one of a kind.

A long time ago, one of my early mentors asked me “Hans, why are you in the hotel business?” He told me to think about it and tell him when I figured it out. It took me a couple of days, but it hit me when I realized that, in effect, we are doctors. Now before you start laughing, think about what we do. When you make plans to stay with us, you likely must drive here. You are also likely to just wanting to get away from the daily grind for a bit. After your drive and under the stresses of daily life, I am pretty sure your blood pressure has risen a bit and you are somewhat tense when you arrive at our Inn. We are equally certain, that, once you have stayed with us and slept in our comfortable beds and we have done all the “working” for you and you are ready to drive home, you will feel better than when you arrived here. I guarantee it!

GOT STRUDEL?
What started as a whim has turned into one of the most sought after Leavenworth treats for guests and locals alike.
Obertal owner, Hans, wanted to try his hand at baking something that was a fond childhood memory: hot apple strudel with homemade vanilla caramel sauce. Testing it out of his family, staff and eventually guests, the strudel became a popular request from Obertal Inn guests.
Before long, the word got around the village of Leavenworth and locals were stopping by to request freshly baked strudel. So now there is a sales window at Obertal where everyone can stop by to pick up their order of strudel.
Obertal Inn guests can preorder Apple Strudel. It is baked fresh on the day of your arrival and delivered to your guest room or Vacation Rental.
